George Gillmore, President of Gillmore Marine Contracting, Inc., graduated from Hamilton College in Clinton, N.Y. in 1977.  After working for Chester A. Crosby, Jr. of Crosby Maritime, Inc. as marine superintendent for nine years, George and his wife Eileen purchased Crosby Maritime and incorporated into Gillmore Marine in August of 1989.  Gillmore Marine leased space in Barnstable until building at our present location in Mashpee.  This central location allows easy access to Route 28 with minimal travel time to customer base.  Our 3000 square foot building enables us to build floats, prefab dock components and service our equipment in a comfortable environment.  We continue to upgrade our equipment to help make our operation as efficient and affordable as possible.

Perhaps Gillmore Marine’s greatest asset is its ability to attract and retain excellent employees.  The vast majority of our work force has been on the payroll for over five years.
